Getting Involved in the 2014 Festival
Do you want to see what the La Crosse Storytelling festival is all about? The best
way is to get involved in this year’s festival. Contact us!
Ways to Get Involved
- Become a member of the Festival Steering Committee. The committee meets once a month
year-round, but many duties can be done from home and/or electronically. We always
need people to help distribute flyers, to address brochures, to make contacts with
local media, etc. If you are interested, contact email@example.com
- Become an advocate for storytelling in your circle of influence. We can give you
information to share with other volunteer, civic, and community organizations to
which you belong. Let us know what you need at: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Hire a storyteller for your next event. Our local professional tellers have experience
telling to large and small groups from all walks of life. We can (and have) told
at business meetings, organization meetings, Red Hat Societies, Church events, health
organizations, at all levels of education (preK - Higher Ed), festivals, dinners,
holiday celebrations, library programs, etc.

During BCTS guild meetings, announcements are made about current local, state, regional,
and national storytelling events and there is a brief time used for guild business.
However, most of the time is spent sharing stories. Beginner through advanced tellers
share stories and receive feedback from Guild members. Storytellers do not have to
be professional, they only need to have a love of stories. Shared stories come from
personal experience, folklore, legends, history and numerous other sources. Story
listeners are always welcome!
BCTS Meetings are held the second Thursday of every month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at
Grounded Specialty Coffee, 308 Main St., La Crosse, WI
