Saturday, September 6th
Saturday Morning Workshops
9:00-10:30 a.m. ~ "Taking it Personally" a workshop by Elizabeth Ellis.
Crafting a personal narrative from idea to performance, this workshop will discuss the four types of storytelling energy.  Issues of privacy, permission, and emotional vulnerability will be examined.

10:30-12:00 noon ~ "Springboards for Stories" a workshop by Jackson Gillman
Known for his broad, theatrical work, Jackson also enjoys using the quirks and quiet in dailty life for grist in his storytelling.  Sometimes it is not until we recount an anecdote that we realize its potential for repertoire.  Examples of simple events turned into performance pieces wil be modeled. Group exercises with "listener as co-creator" will help prompt participants to mine their own personal nuggets worthy of polishing.  Together, we'll explore the process of crafting material from real life experiences, whether they be dramatic or commonplace.

Each of the above workshops is $10.00, payable at the gate.  Please preregister by contacting
Deon Imhoff at (608) 784-8142 or by
email.
