Stories for Change   Susan O’Halloran
Understand how to create engaging stories with social justice themes. Sue O’Halloran will demonstrate how she approaches her race equity stories. These principles will apply to any cause that calls to you, whether you are an active advocate or just beginning to take on stories with deeper purpose. You will be able to distinguish between stories that preach in negative, patronizing ways and those that influence by combining education and entertainment, thereby respecting, enlightening, and emotionally moving your audience to possibly take action.

The Inside and Outside of Storytelling: Finding, Building, Telling      Stuart Stotts

All of us carry stories inside us, from the everyday small interactions to the larger arcs of living. How do we find and choose the stories we want to share with the world? And then how do we shape them so they can be heard and appreciated?

Moving stories from memory and imagination into the world is different for each of us, but there are some shared processes and approaches that can be helpful. We’ll explore those with an eye toward nurturing a story or two that we can carry closer to the light of day.
